Nanotoxicology

Research on the toxicity of nanomaterials at the University of Florida is an interdisciplinary effort, involving scientists with biological, chemical, and engineering backgrounds. Strong and productive collaborations across disciplines have evolved over years of pursuing studies of the potential effects of nanomaterials on biological systems, both in vitro and in vivo Research extends from interactions of nanomaterials with biomolecules to studies of cellular systems and whole organisms. Aquatic and mammalian species are the principal focus of research that encompasses biomedical applications of nanotechnology and potential environmental impacts.
